Sony Classical artist, Juno Award winner, Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Orchestre Philharmonique du Québec, and Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Orquesta Sinfónica Sinaloa de las Artes, Alexandre Da Costa is a conductor of international renown.

Highly sought after for guest conducting engagements, he has led over 2,000 concerts across four continents and more than 30 countries, appearing in prestigious venues including Vienna’s Musikverein, Berlin’s Philharmonie, and New York’s Carnegie Hall, with top orchestras such as the London Royal Philharmonic and the Vienna Symphony (Wiener Symphoniker).


Da Costa’s conducting is distinguished by clarity, precision, and expressive energy across a wide symphonic repertoire. A distinctive feature of his artistry is the Play & Conduct technique, leading selected works directly from the violin, combining the roles of soloist and conductor in performance.

Also an acclaimed soloist and recording artist, he has released 28 albums with Sony Classical, Warner Classics, and Universal Classics, earning a JUNO Award and international recognition.
